เมื่อวันที่ 16 ธ.ค.2564 ที่กองบัญชาการตำรวจท่องเที่ยว พล.ต.ต. อภิชาติ สุริบุญญา โฆษก(โฆษก บช.ทท.)เปิดเผยถึงกรณีนักท่องเที่ยวชาวอิสราเอล Mr. OHAD BARUCH อายุ 30 ปี เดินทางเข้ามาเที่ยวในไทยแล้วหลบหนีออกจากโรงแรมที่พักย่านสุขุมวิทในวันที่ 17 ธันวาคม 2564 หลังจากพบผลตรวจหาเชื้อโควิดเป็นบวก ซึ่งพนักงานสอบสวนสถานีตำรวจนครบาลทองหล่อได้ขอให้ศาลออกหมายจับไว้ในวันที่ 21 ธันวาคม 2564 นั้น
ซึ่งต่อมา เมื่อวันที่ 22 ธันวาคมที่ผ่านมา นักท่องเที่ยวรายนี้เข้ามอบตัวกับตำรวจท่องเที่ยวเกาะสมุย จังหวัดสุราษฎร์ธานี พร้อมยืนยันผลตรวจเป็นลบ แต่เพื่อความปลอดภัยของชุมชนกรมควบคุมโรคได้มีความเห็นให้กักตัวนักท่องเที่ยวรายนี้จนถึงวันที่ 26 ธันวาคม 2564
โดยตำรวจท่องเที่ยวตำรวจท่องเที่ยวสุราษฎร์ธานี จะนำตัวนักท่องเที่ยวรายนี้ส่งพนักงานสอบสวนสถานีตำรวจนครบาลทองหล่อในวันที่ 27 ธันวาคม 2564 เพื่อดำเนินคดีในข้อหาฝ่าฝืนพระราชกำหนดบริหารราชการในสถานการณ์ฉุกเฉิน พ.ศ. 2548 และเมื่อศาลตัดสินแล้วก็จะให้ออกนอกราชอาณาจักรตามพระราชบัญญัติคนเข้าเมือง พ.ศ. 2522 ต่อไป
Tourist Police Clarifies Case of Israeli Tourists Violating Emergency Decree
Case of an Israeli tourist, Mr. OHAD BARUCH, aged 30, who traveled to Thailand and escaped from a hotel in Sukhumvit Road on 17 December 2021 after testing positive for COVID-19, which the investigating officer of the Thonglor Metropolitan Police Station has asked the court to issue an arrest warrant on 21 December 2021.
On 22 December 2021, the said tourist turned himself to the tourist police in Koh Samui, Surat Thani Province with confirmation of negative test results. But for the safety of the community, the Department of Disease Control has agreed to quarantine this tourist until 26 December 2021.
For the next step, Pol.Maj.Gen. Apichat Suriboonya, Spokesman of the Tourist Police Bureau, explains that Surat Thani Tourist Police will take this tourist to the Thonglor Metropolitan Police Station on 27 December 2021 in order to prosecute him for violating the Emergency Decree on Public Administration in Emergency B.E. 2548. He will then be deported out of Thailand according to the Immigration B.E. 2522 after the court verdict.
